I’m not afraid of the dark…
I’m not afraid of heights….
I’m not afraid of storms….
I’m not afraid……
Fearless dancers though life,
What a seductive image
Beautiful but imperfect,
Because we are humans with slow rumbling storms on the inside.
I am afraid….
I’m afraid of losing my sensibility,
Of not feelings things and people,
I’m afraid of the needle of numbness.
I’m afraid of building a strong carcass,
As I always want to be free.
I’m afraid of not feeling love the way it should be felt,
With storms and calmness,
With butterflies and loud bangs,
Am I feeling too little, too much?
Because I don’t know how others feel it…..
I’m afraid of disappointment in my children’s eyes,
I want to be great,
And sometimes I am, but sometimes I am not.
And you, what are you afraid of?
In this moment,
I glimpse at the person you are and at who you’re becoming,
And all I can think is…
That we all have our own fears.
