Current mythology of love

by Andrada Costoiu

Odysseus and Penelope.
Their story ends happily when Odysseus returns from the Trojan war,
But he wasn’t exactly faithful along the way……was he?
Were you my love?
I guess Greeks were much better back then,
Because nowadays cheating feels earth-shattering,
And you have to figure out a way of how to keep going.

I have been feeding myself on dark thoughts
Of “love problems”,
But I am glad didn’t last,
I guess Hades has grabbed me by my wrist
And spewed me outside,
Into the light.

What do I do now?
Do I walk slowly, with caution,
Careful to not fall on my every step,
Or do I stubbornly stick with my bouncy walk?

Bouncy……and smile!

I guess Eros is rebelliously fueling us all with his arrows,
No matter what we’ve been trough,
We become again and again….
The perfect man and the perfect woman.

I have loved you.
Will I love again?
Yes! Eros please aim,
For without love, there is no life….and this is no myth.
