Beginning of slavery in the US

by Andrada Costoiu

Hello everyone,
Few people, including myself, have started at our university a reading group about the history of slavery in general and in the USA in particular. I am posting here a brief slide show, if you would like to learn a bit about what we know, according to the historical records, about the beginnings of slavery here in the USA. I think that we need to excavate deep into the history to understand more what is happening today. Not born and raised here, I was oblivious to race, religion and all kinds of differences. I still am. I do not like when people are called names or treated differently based on their origins and their other characteristics. We are all people and we all have souls. Period. For what is worth, we could all have been born in different bodies.

Have a wonderful day,
A. xoxo

  1. White Privilege in America has always been on display and its been past down like a gift in a will,I understand it very well because my ancestors had stories and faced the ugly and treated as 2nd class citizens, what happened last Wednesday is a reminder of White Privilege for the whole world to see on display,Slave Masters still on the money we use George Washington is seen as some hero and he owned more slaves than any other, bottom line the USA has settled and refuses to evolve and never acknowledge the ultimate pandemic which is Racism they refuse to find a cure, its real in America

  2. I am so sorry to hear that about your family :(, as it pains me to see segregation in a society where there should be none. No segregation, no discrimination. Unfortunately, this is a reality , not only here in the US, but in other parts of the world too. We need to do better, we, all,!as people, we need to do better, we need to be better !
