This past weekend, I had the amazing opportunity to fly a larger aircraft than I’m used to, making the trip to Paso Robles even more memorable. It wasn’t just any flight—it was a first for me, flying alongside my dear friend Diane, who graciously let me take the controls of her plane.

Diane, a seasoned pilot and someone I deeply admire, gave me an impromptu lesson during our flight. Her calm, steady presence as she explained a few key details about handling a bigger plane made all the difference. Flying in her plane felt both exhilarating and empowering, as I learned so much about the nuances of a larger aircraft.

The trip wasn’t just about the flight. We were in Paso Robles to attend a 99s conference, which brought together an incredible group of women pilots from all over. As a proud member of the 99s, it was an inspiring experience to connect with other women in aviation and hear their stories.

I meet so many incredible women, too many to mention! I felt especially connected to both Diane and Sofia. Sofia was the first person I met at my very first 99s meeting.
We also took time to visit the Estrella Warbirds Museum, a place I highly recommend to everyone. The museum has a fascinating collection of vintage cars.

It also offers a in-depth look at military and military aviation history.

Paso Robles was the perfect backdrop for this aviation adventure with my fellow pilot friends.
This experience reminded me why I love aviation so much—the thrill of learning something new, the bond formed with other pilots, and the pure joy of being in the sky. Flying Diane’s plane added a whole new layer to that passion, and I’m incredibly grateful for the chance to learn from her.
Looking forward to many more flights and adventures in the future!
