Lonely Planet has long been a go-to for practical, insightful travel guidance — whether it’s navigating local customs, finding the best time to visit a destination, or discovering can’t-miss cultural experiences. Their guides combine depth with accessibility, offering both seasoned and new travelers the knowledge that makes journeys smoother and more meaningful. On the other hand, Atlas Obscura feeds my love of the unusual and the overlooked. From hidden alleys in major cities to bizarre natural wonders off the beaten path, it’s a treasure trove for anyone seeking stories and places that most tourists never find. Between the grounded advice of Lonely Planet and the curiosity-fueled discoveries on Atlas Obscura, I find inspiration that helps shape how — and why — I travel: not just to see, but to experience with intention.
